Helen is a multi-instrumentalist who began her musical training in piano and violin at LSOM under the tutelage of Bernadette Kiely and David O’Connell.
Helen earned a Licentiate in piano teaching LLCM (TD) from London College of Music and a Licentiate in violin teaching LTCL (TD) from Trinity College, London. She continued her musical training in organ under Frances Moore achieving her Fellowship in Organ Performance (FLCM) from London College of Music. As part of this she was invited to perform her programme at Westminster, London.
Helen is also a highly accomplished traditional music player, winning the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in concertina and placing on numerous occasions in the fiddle competition.
Helen has worked for many years accompanying the Franciscan choir in Limerick. Helen has also played regularly in various orchestras in Limerick giving performances.
Helen teaches piano and music theory at LSOM. She also accompanies the LSOM junior choir as well as working with the Grassroots Orchestra.
