Refund Policy


Tuition fees are payable to Limerick School of Music at the commencement of each term in September and February each year.  Fees may be paid by Cheque, Bank Draft, Postal Order, Credit/Debit Card or Standing Order.  In addition, examination fees may be applied for Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music or Limerick School of Music examinations.


Fees for all programmes must be paid in advance of commencement of programmes and all examinations must be paid before a student can be entered for an examination.  LSOM encourages all learners to pay fees online at prior to commencing any programme.


There are no exemptions available. In cases of financial hardship learners can request a fee reduction or fee waiver by writing to the Principal who will make an appropriate recommendation to the board of the LCETB.


Learners can apply for a refund of fees by submitting a written request fully outlining the reason(s) for the refund and supplying documentation if required. Each application will be dealt with on its merits.  Fees will be refunded on a sliding scale, determined by the number of weeks into the term that the learner has applied for a refund, i.e. each term is 17 weeks –refunds will be based on the following formula : full fee ÷ 17 weeks × remaining weeks of tuition, learners will not be entitled to a refund after week four.

Online Payment Refunds

Each online fee refund request will take one week to process and refunds will be made back to the Credit/Debit card used to pay the fee.

Refund of Payments By Paper Transactions

Refund of payments made by Cheque, Postal Order, Bank Draft or Standing Order will dealt with by the LCETB Finance Dept. and may take up to six weeks.

Fee Refund Requests must be made in writing to the Principal, Limerick School of Music, Mulgrave St. Limerick.
