Leaving Certificate Music
Leaving Certificate Music is a two-year course consisting of both written (Listening and Composition) and practical (performance and/or music technology) elements. This course is available to students of LSOM and external students. Any student wishing to study LC Music at LSOM must not be also studying the subject in their own school. The written exam takes place during the state examinations in June of each year and the practical exams take place in the Spring, usually around the Easter holidays: the Department of Education decides these dates.
Limerick School of Music students usually take the higher level performance elective.
Classes take place once a week and are time tabled for 1.5 hours
(Refer to timetable for days and times).
Leaving Cert 1 & 2 classes apply to 5th year & 6th year students respectively.
