About Our Leaving
Certificate Music Course
Leaving Certificate Music is a two-year course consisting of both written (Listening and Composition) and practical (performance and/or music technology) elements. The class lesson covering the written elements of the course is available to students of LSOM and external students.
The written exam takes place during the state examinations in June of each year in the student’s own mainstream school. The practical exams take place in the Spring, usually around the Easter holidays: the Department of Education decides these dates.
