Students focus on developing a secure technical ability and covering a wide range of solo, orchestral and chamber repertoire. There are also opportunities to gain experience performing on doubling instrument and period instruments.
The Limerick School of Music Big Band provides an exciting opportunity for students of traditional big band instruments (saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, drums, singing) to explore the rich sounds of the fabulous Big Band repertoire.
Contact teachers Michael Dooley or Matt O' Gara if interested in joining.
The String Faculty provides a vibrant and exciting environment in which to learn, with courses tailored to meet the needs of each student. Students are accepted from 7 years of age for 'Cello.
Limerick School of Music is always eager to encourage young 'Cello players as these musicians will go on to become the power house of many orchestras and ensembles. Many of our students, both past and present, can regularly be seen performing at a national level.
In addition to participating in the school’s orchestras, cello students can be part of the dedicated Cello ensemble.
The Cello Ensemble is open to all cello students and provides a positive support to our cello students' studies where they can explore the potential of their instrument as an ensemble instrument and learn from each other as well as from their teacher.
