Adam Scheck was born in Győr/Hungary. He started to play the cello in the local music school
(named after Ferenc Liszt), where he was the member of the choir and played the cello in the music
school's orchestra, and started to play the double bass and the piano. He began to study composing
and double bass in a technical college of music under Attila Reményi and Ákos Cziglényi achieving
degrees of double bass and solfeggio.

Adam played in the string and symphonic orchestras of the music school, the technical college and
the university as well as brass and reed bands. With the orchestra and choir he performed in Japan,
South-Korea, China, Brazil, Croatia, Germany, Austria and Finland.

Adam is a very active composer, continually producing new works and instrumentations. In 2006,
Adam’s first work, the Dance of Elves was premiered by the Symphonic Band (Hungary). In 2009, his
first major work for string orchestra, the Modern Scherzo was played by the SZE University Orchestra
(Hungary), conducted by Gergely Ménesi. His first musical, called Nyavalyások (based on Ferdinand
Bruckner Krankheit der Jugend) was performed in Budapest in 2009.

2010 saw Adam moving to Ireland where he became a student of Academos, Irish World Academy of
Music and Dance (University of Limerick) from 2010. He graduated with a Master of Arts in Classical
String Performance with first class honours in 2012. In May 2011, he was invited to play several
concerts with the Mannheim Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany. Adam played with Academos at
the visit of the Dalai Lama to UL and recently also performed in a quartet with Micheál Ó
Súilleabháin. In April 2010 he became a recipient of a RTE Lyric FM scholarship.

Adam joined the teaching staff of Limerick School of Music in 2020 where he teaches Double Bass,
Cello, Chamber Music and Composition.
