  • Where is Limerick School of Music located?

    We are located on Mulgrave Street on the same campus as the LCETB College of Further Education and Training. Eircode is V94 HV02.

  • How can I contact the school?

  •  What courses do you offer?

    We offer tuition on Piano, Organ, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Classical Guitar, Singing, Recorder, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Cornet, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Percussion, Leaving Cert Music and Instrument Making.

  • How can my child join the school?

    The best way for your child to join the school is to partake in the Gateway to Music Programme. Our Gateway to Music programme starts when children are in 2nd year of preschool and priority for instrumental lessons is given to children who complete the Gateway Programme.   • How do I apply for a course?

  • When are places offered to prospective students?

    Once existing students are re-enrolled each year we offer any remaining spaces to prospective students on the waiting list – this usually happens in August each year.

  • When do classes take place?

    Classes run Monday to Friday from 2.00pm – 9.00pm

  • Do I have to attend a musicianship/theory class?

    All students must attend a musicianship/ theory class from beginner to grade 5. Length of class varies from 30 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on level.

  • What happens if I am unable to take up an offer of a place?

    If you have been offered a place and you can’t avail of the time you will get a second offer when another time arises. At this point, if you are unable to take the place your child will be removed from the waiting list and you will need to reapply.

  • What are the fees?

  • Do I need to buy an instrument?

    Please get advice / check sizing with the teacher in the first lesson prior to purchasing. We do have an instrument bank to assist with this on a case by case basis.

  • Can I study piano and practise on a keyboard?

    No. To study piano at LSOM you must have an acoustic piano at home to practise on.

  • Do you offer Leaving Cert music as an additional subject?
